This coin pays homage to one of Australia’s most recognizable and popular animals. Struck in .9999 fine gold by the Perth Mint, each coin features a bounding kangaroo crosses the Australian outback with the moon in the background, and along with the Perth Mint’s traditional "P" mintmark also appears on this surface. The obverse surface the coin bears an effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and inscriptions of the face value and purity. Being legal tender under the Currency Act of 1965, these coins are guaranteed by the Government of Australia. Each coin is presented in a protective acrylic case.
